Leadon On Community Projects

Lead On Ipswich has many projects running all throughout the year, projects are the main area that youth get involved in.  Below you will find some information about on going projects that Lead On has and a little bit more information about them:

Mural Art Projects
There has been an increased level of interest from Ipswich City Council, businesses and residents for more mural art projects within Ipswich.  There are many projects in mural art at the moment, ranging from quite small to very large fences.

Car Detailing Project with Ross Llewellyn Motors
One of our major supporters is Ross Llewellyn Motors, we have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to present a project where youth get involved in a car detailing project where you get to work with the latest models of cars and get paid a bit of a bonus as well.  This is a great project for those who like cars and would like to be involved in presenting the cars in ‘delivery state’.

Lead On Music
Lead On Ipswich has quite an extensive mix of music equipment that can cater for a small crowd or a crowd of 150 people.  Lead On Music is one of our most popular project with up and coming artists and we strongly encourage you to make contact as we’re looking at getting more public gigs out in Ipswich.  Have a look at the photo gallery for some previous gigs we have hosted.

Lead On Retro Ragz & Wearable Art
Retro Ragz & Wearable Art is an annual event that we hold that get’s local students from high schools in the area to submit a garment that fits into the Retro Ragz category (a garment made out of second hand garments) or Wearable Art (a garment made out of recyclable material).  It’s a fantastic opportunity if you’re into fashion or events management and this year we are lucky to have it in the Ipswich Art Gallery on 31 May 2008 – DON’T MISS OUT!!

Your Nick.Ed – Internet & Chat Room Safety
Your Nick.Ed stands for Your Nickname Education, we are providing free information sessions through 2008 to provide handy information on how to ensure that your identity isn’t compromised while chatting online.  The first information session for the year will be held at Barry Jones Auditorium on 04 March 2008.  If you would like to come along just contact us.

Lead On Computers
Like working with computers? We have the project for you! Ever wondered what happens with computers when they’re upgraded in businesses? They’re recycled or parts removed to make a workable computer.  This project has been run in previous years and we’re looking at starting it up again very soon for 2008.
