Ipswich City Centre

Ipswich is fast becoming one of Queensland's most desirable places to live, work, play and invest. By 2026 our population will grow to over 300,000 people. With this level of growth we can expect significant changes which will present us with both challenges and opportunities.

With this in mind, the Department of Local Government, Planning, Sport and Recreation (DLGPSR), in collaboration with Ipswich City Council, have begun the process of developing a strategy for the rejuvenation of the Ipswich Regional Centre. The strategy will strive to maintain the rich cultural heritage of Ipswich and build on its current strengths whilst identifying a range of actions to ensure sustainable growth of the area.
